Technicial Program & Product Management

Hello, I'm Amy.

I’m a Computer Science and Software Engineering B.S. graduate from the University of Washington Bothell I have past experience in the banking industry, but I needed more of a challenge and wanted to make an impact in more meaningful ways. This was when I decided to pursue a degree in computer science.

My heart was set on becoming a software engineer, but I kept my options open and received an opportunity in my junior year to work on a team in Product and Technology at T-Mobile as a product manager. This changed everything! It turned out that product management fit my skillset and personality in more ways than I could have imagined. From knowledge I’ve gained at university, combined with my past experience in banking, I excelled in this role. During my yearlong internship at T-Mobile in Product Management, I wore multiple hats and juggled many different tasks. I gained hands-on experience collaborating with my immediate team, cross-functional teams, and an external vendor team throughout multiple product lifecycles.

Within the first few months, I was facilitating weekly syncs, sprint planning sessions, and priority syncs as well as backlog management and user-story grooming sessions with cross-functional teams. I assisted a senior product manager with documentation for several dark promotional products, took part in the statement of work (SOW) for our vendor team – creating and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s), and revamped the backlog dashboard to be better organized and more consistent. Toward the end of the internship, I took ownership of functional specifications design and documentation following the full product lifecycle that impacted multiple existing cellular plans in the market and their corresponding vendor websites.

Outside of work life and school life, I love to stay up to date on the latest tech news and on what’s happening in the industry. I’m always exploring new technologies, tools, and methods to implement in my solutions. I’m now looking for a role in technical program management where I’ll have an impact on consumer products and to ensure these products exceed expectations, to learn and adopt new technologies and processes, to manage specifications, and timelines throughout the product lifecycle.
